A note from Maggie

Hey everyone. I've had so much fun with you guys all year. It's been an amazing experience to do this and I'm so glad I auditioned. We have so many great memories together. And I'm devastated it's over! As many of you probably are. It's like a big family and when it's over it's like watching your family leave you. But I know we will see each other again but not soon enough! I hope you all had as much fun as I did this year!

          Love you all xoxo,

The Photo Shoot

The photo shoot was a great success!

MANY thanks to Christina Webb for the great photos (and her two helpers Justin and Ryan). King Archie, Mother Bumble and Hyacinth (Fairy Godmother) looked smashing in their costumes – and everything fit!

Had to cancel Tuesday’s rehearsal due to wonky power outages, so the minuet will have to wait...

AND we’re up to over 1,000 kids for our school matinees! NO PRESSURE!!

Finished blocking the entire show – YAHOO! Our first stumble-through is on Thursday. I hope everyone remembers the blocking from four weeks ago... Our trusty Stage Managers (Brook, Clara, Cezanne and Tristan) will have their work cut out for them! The King, Mother Bumble, and the Fairy Godmother are looking forward to the photo-shoot tomorrow night at the theatre. Stay tuned for the photos!

The one where Kelly brought cupcakes

Cupcakes
Tonight Kelly brought cupcakes! They were delicious and neon! Sadly, we were only allowed to have one. Well all except.......guess who!!!! ERIC THE CUPCAKE THIEF!!!! If Eric is reading this he should know that cupcakes make you fat!!! (I guess that’s a good thing since Eric is skinny) the highlight of the night was definitely cupcakes :)

- Tabby

Got burnt up tonight. I swear that my face was red all night. Kelly made some awesome cupcakes! Happy Birthday to Kelly! Eric was stealing cupcakes, in other words being his normal Eric-y self. Eric stealing cupcakes, after I told him he had a biggest fan. Come one, Eric, can’t be a bad example to your biggest fan aka my brother. He’s probably peering over my shoulder right now! Let’s check! Oh, phew! No one there. It was a quiet boring day in the office. Suddenly, Austin barges in! “Austin, why are you late?” “Well, aliens came and had babies after they took my mother.” “Why are you standing Tommy? What does Eric get?” “Oh, just admiring your shoes,” or “practicing in case someone attacks you.” Both fired! Sorry Dray and Brian, you guys were robbers!!! I made up something great, but it’s a secret!

- Sorel

Another great rehearsal tonight! We celebrated Kelly’s birthday with some very tasty and colourful cupcakes she made. Everybody was pretty hyper after eating them... Played a new game after rehearsal that Julia suggested called “Why are you late?” It was hilarious! Everybody kept getting fired by the Boss, but there were some very interesting excuses. The King tried on his costume tonight, and he looks VERY regal in it! Wait until he sees the crown... “Bertha! Where’s my crown?!”

Notes from the rehearsal trenches

Today in rehearsal was a good day. We got all we needed to accomplish in the time we had and had extra time to play a game! But during the actual part of rehearsal Eric tried to finish math homework. He had to get help from Kelly and Katharine, but finished it without talking too much. We can all say that he is most definitely the quietest person in the room at all times! Luckily today there were no drawings of Kelly, Sabina or the Unicorn. Although when the girls were supposed to be practicing our curtsies, Julia and I had a ballet and gymnastics recital. Nobody tell Nancy!
- Florette

The rehearsals are very interesting and very social and interactive. Being accepted into the group was very exciting and I was very proud of everyone who got in and had the guts to try out.
- Queen Bertha

Wasn’t so hot tonight. Can tell everyone was still getting back into the regular routine. No one was “on-call.” Eric was quieter tonight. It’s all my fault. I was trashing Eric on the blog. I’m sorry, Eric. But it’s still true. You talk lots. Don’t worry, though.  It’s a unique Eric thing. Brooklyn didn’t bring the bunny, but she did bring Timbits! Just as good. When everyone left: My Mom wrote on twitter a couple days ago “White smoke, new pope, or there’s a fire in the Vatican.” Or there’s a fire in the rehearsal room. Talked to a janitor. No one knew. No worries though, the school is still standing… I think. No more trashing Eric, Nancy. We all love him!

Wonderful to see everyone after March Break. Just as crazy as ever! Happily, everyone remembered their blocking, and a good run-through of the first half of the play was had by all. Lily can’t keep a straight face during her scenes with Rupert. Could be the duck faces David keeps making. Big Bart was hilarious as usual! Rupert and Dudley look genuinely afraid... AND STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTERS!

Minuet rehearsals

I can hardly wait for our minuet rehearsals... Had a bit of a preview tonight. Pretty sure there’s going to be lots of stepping on toes, smacking and bumping, falling on the floor, etc., all with NO hysterical laughing, of course. Met Brook’s bunny... very cute. David has to stop giving Lily the duck look. The poor girl starts giggling every time she looks at him! Now Campers, please try and FOCUS!
- Nancy

Not so hot tonight! Phew! I thought I was gonna die in there, but no. That bunny was the cutest thing! It's Nancy, the bunny! No wait, the toad is Nancy the 2nd and the bunny is Nancy the 3rd. Just suggestions, Brooklyn. I love the looks on peoples' faces when Tabby, Daisy, and I look up their skirts. "It's Nancy!" Poor, Poor Nancy. Hmm, I wonder what life would be like when you're a toad.

And cue the burping...

And cue the burping... Another fun rehearsal sweating to death with my favourite bunch of silly people! Hard to tell what the highlight of the evening was – there were so many... Eric kept everyone entertained with weird arm tricks (lots of shrieking and giggling) while I was TRYING to block a few scenes, but all was well in the end. And yes Eric, you DO talk a lot!
- Nancy

Burnt. Not to mention Eric's hot air flowing all around the room. '' Why does Nancy always blame me? I don't talk a lot!" Ah yes, Eric, you do talk a lot. And gosh, Nancy, would you please move the stupid blackboard out of the room. Hideous drawings covered the board. Eric's drawing of Cumberbatch was just mean. It did not at all portray Sabina’s regal elegance. Same with the drawing of Kelly. Good actors, though. “Now, I must go instruct the cook for dinner. I feel like eating red meat!” : )
